Rapid Web Attacks Occurring Following Disclosure of Security FlawsAccording to a latest Internet Security Systems X-Force report by IBM Corp, an increasing number of Web attacks are being launched in 24 hours after disclosure of a security flaw. This means that security loopholes are exploited in browsers, operating software and other applications even before people might get to learn that there is a problem. X-Force report, which studied the spam trend for the first half of 2008, presents two developing trends in Web-based attacks. First, cyber criminals are largely hooking onto programs that aid in automatic generation of malicious attacks on the basis of publicly found information about security flaws.
