Dutch Police Made Two Arrest, Shut Down Shadow Botnet
The Dutch High Tech Crime Unit has detained two persons and terminated the Shadow botnet, thought to consist of more than 100,000 compromised PCs.
While the Dutch police arrested a 19-year-old Dutch national on charges of operating the botnet, they also caught a Brazillian man for trying to hire the botnet's service. These arrests were the outcome of the Dutch High Tech Crime Unit's joint operations with the FBI.
According to security experts, the so-called Shadow botnet is comprised of around 100,000 infected systems from across the world.
