Patched Adobe Acrobat Reader Still Causing Threat

The unsecure PC users are exposed extensively to the wild threat posed by the malevolent PDF files that are exploiting the Adobe Reader, reported scmagzine on November 12, 2008.

According to the Trend Micro's research labs, in the current incident, if the unpatched users inadvertently access a malevolent website, or if they are redirected to such sites by the malicious banners and advertisements, a Trojan gets installed onto their machines. To address the current problem, a latest version of Adobe Reader was issued on November 4, 2008.

It is revealed that at the moment, the user hosts a PDF containing the embedded malicious code on a website, the Trojan gets activated and attacks the user's PC. In particular, when the website is visited, the Adobe Reader loads this dangerous...
