Computer Worm Terrifying the US Defense DepartmentAs per the security reports, officials of the US Defense Department are terrified by a worm that is doing rounds of their networks. So they have suspended the use of thumb drives, flash media cards, CDs and several other removable devices from the networks to stop the multiplication of the worm. An internal army e-mail stated that the ban has been imposed by the commander of the US Strategic Command and is applicable to both the networks viz. Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPR) and the uncategorized Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPR). The second army e-mail said that the problem was driven by virus "Agent.btz", which is a version of worm SillyFDC that copies itself onto the thumb drives or other similar devices.
