Microsoft Disinfected One Million PCs from Malware in Nine DaysAccording to Microsoft, nearly one million computers were disinfected from fake security software through anti-malware tools in nine days from November 11, 2008 to November 19, 2008. Researchers at Microsoft said that the malware was "W32/FakeSecSen" that used various names of security software such as "Spyware Preventer", "XPert Antivirus", "Advanced Antivirus" and "Ultimate antivirus 2008". The researchers further revealed that normally, each FakeSecSen download includes one or two .dat files, an .exe file, a control panel applet and some other components.
