New Variant of Koobface Virus Targets Social Networks

According to a warning from internet security specialists at ScanSafe, a new variant of the Koobface computer worm that was found spreading across Facebook during the first week of December 2008 is now targeting members of other social networking websites.

The recent and updated version of the worm has been designed to infect users of five other social networking sites, including Bebo, a popular site among young people, and MySpace, the largest social networking website in the United States. Other sites that the virus is targeting are Blackplanet, Friendster and MyYearbook.
