UK Ranks Seventh Among Top Ten Malware Hosting Nations

According to Sophos, a security firm, the UK ranks seventh in the list of the ten most malware hosting nations.

Researchers working in the company said that in August 2007, the UK was behind 0.8% of the total malware in the world. However, by April 2008, the country was behind 1.1% of the total malware and during November 2008, the figure increased even more to 1.7%. With respect to spam, the UK hosted 3.1% of all spam and occupied the eighth position. These are the statistics as per the "Security Threat Report for 2009" from Sophos.
