Future of Web Security Appears Gloomy

According to the security forecast by the security firm Websense for 2009, the cloud is going to be hazardous, user-friendly websites will be used to host malicious data, and the rich Internet applications are expected to prove useless for their users.

Phil Vasic, Websense Country Manager for Australia/New Zealand, predicted that the cloud will be increasingly used for conducting malicious activities. Cloud-based services like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and GoGrid enable the users to store large volumes of data and do bulky calculations at a reasonable cost, as reported by crn on December 11, 2008.
