Online Shoppers Asked to Stay Vigilant of ScamsWith shopping spree underway this holiday season, advocates of consumer protection in the US are cautioning shoppers about fraud schemes circulating across internet, as reported by pressconnects on December 17, 2008. As per the "Look Before You Click" campaign sponsored by Andrew Cuomo, the Attorney General, and the FTC, Consumer Reports WebWatch released fresh data on internet surfers who fell victim to online fraud. Precautionary actions were suggested to consumers so that they could avoid becoming prey to such frauds. The recent survey by WebWatch reveals that 5% of respondents that purchased goods from auction sites never received their delivery.
