Microsoft Confirms Vulnerability in its SQL ServerAccording to the news reports published by PCWorld on December 29, 2008, Microsoft has confirmed that it has been working on a critical a security flaw in SQL Server for over eight months (since April 2008). The reports state that in a security advisory by Microsoft issued on December 29, 2008, the software giant indicated that the flaw could be exploited to execute malicious programs on systems having versions of Microsoft SQL 2005 and Microsoft SQL 2000. Apart from these versions, the advisory said that the flaw could impact Windows Internal Database, Microsoft SQL 2005 Express Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (WMSDE).
