Symantec’s Latest Spam Report Indicates Resurgence of Spam Levels

According to report 'The State of Spam' released by the leading security company Symantec on January 2009, spam volume has surged nearly to 80%, the pre-McColo closure levels.

Although net and web-linked spam like ads pushing web hosting or software package comprised 24% of the total spam spread worldwide in December 2008, leisure spam formed 18% of the entire spam, product spam comprised 18% and health-linked spam represented 11% of total spam spread throughout the world in December 2008.
