Emerging Economies at Higher Risk of Cyber AttacksOnline security provider MessageLabs has released a report, "MessageLabs Intelligence: 2008 Annual Security Report", which states that emerging economies like the BRIC countries comprising Brazil, Russia, India and China are at higher risk of being attacked by cyber threats. The report revealed that with almost 10% of the global botnets being controlled and operated in Brazil, the country harbored the world's largest share of botnets. Turkey with 9% and China with 7% were second and third respectively in terms of their share in the global botnets, while Russia and India were the other countries among the top five botnet harboring nations.
