Trial of Hackers Accused of Stealing Money from a Japanese Bank Starts

A gang of alleged hackers charged with attempts to steal £229 Million in 2004 out of accounts of a Japanese bank, Sumitomo Mistsui Bank, by installing spyware on corporate systems is eventually undergoing the trial at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court.

According to the information coming from the court, the plan to steal money did not work out because the bank suspected the presence of the hackers who were not acquainted with the SWIFT system needed to transfer money.

Giving the key details of the incident, The Times said that the hackers who visited the bank at night with the help of a sinister security guard, planted keyloggers on the bank's systems essentially to seize confidential account details.
