Brazil Leads the First 2010 Ranking of Spam OriginatorsAccording to a study conducted by Panda Security, Brazil, India, Vietnam, USA and Korea dominates the list of greatest source of spam being sent globally in January and February 2010. The 5 Million e-mails studied by PandaLabs came from almost 1 Million different IP addresses, indicating that on an average five spam e-mails came from. In other words, every single IP could recognize one or more systems. The research disclosed that Brazil has led the total spam ranking by holding 13.7% share for the first two months of the year. The spam e-mails are particularly used for circulating threats or sell illegal products, and the chief lure used as part of the social engineering methods used is the commitment of videos and images of the Brazilian girls. Of the total identified spam, following Brazil, India occupied the second position with 10.98%, at third spot was Vietnam with 5.71%, and at the fourth place was Korea with 6.32% in the list. As of now, USA is the fifth most famous originator of spam worldwide. From the IP addresses of the US, 5.5% of spam is being sent internationally. In addition, the security firm informs that UK is behind the churning of 2.34% of global junk e-mail, acquiring the 12th place on the whole. The security experts opined that it is worth mentioning that UK has improved a great deal as the country was once far higher. Now-a-days, most of the UK ISPs offer anti-spam tools or use server-side measures for filtering the bulk of junk e-mail. Sadly, the event the best anti-spam techniques usually seize authentic messages as well. Meanwhile, the security firm also published the list of leading cities that distribute the maximum spam internationally. In terms of the cities from where spam was sent out, Seoul (Korea) topped the list with 4.64% of overall spam sent internationally in January and February, 2010. With 3.99%, Hanoi (Vietnam) is next to Seoul, and then comes the national capital of India, New Delhi with 1.67%, with 1.33% is Bogota (Columbia), then is Sao Paulo (Brazil) with 1.19% and finally, with 1.13% is Bombay (India).
