UKBA Cautions of Fake E-mails Promising Jobs in UK

Recently, the UK Border Agency (UKBA), known for securing the UK border and controlling migration in the UK, declared that applicants looking for jobs in the UK should be careful from scammers offering them fake job offers through bogus mails.

The scam mails often mention the names and titles of authentic UK Border Agency authorities, just to add genuineness to the so-called "job offers".

As per officials, the scam appears to promise the issuance of bogus UK work visas for which some amount of money is required to be paid.

Director of Communications at the UK Border Agency, Rob Yeldham, warned the migrants and said that his name has also been used in many cases of scamming foreign professionals looking for work in UK. They have reported about the scams to their security unit, but it is still not clear what kind of scam it is and from where it has evolved. The best way is to be watchful of any unknown offers, as per the news published by globalvisas.com on May 27, 2010.

Besides the names of officials, the name of the website workpermit.com has also been abused by fraudsters many a times. workpermit.com is an authentic immigration based website across the world. Sometimes wicked consultants purposely make their site in a manner that looks identical to workpermit.com website and also make efforts to trade in work-related services using the name of workpermit.com. Officials stated that workpermit.com is a private consultancy firm offering independent immigration suggestion.

In order to help job seekers, UKBA has given a list of red flags that will enable users in recognizing a bogus mail, which includes that UKBA does not look for work for migrants. Also, UKBA mail addresses usually carry "gov" at the end.

Moreover, UKBA stated that it is hard to get a work visa for working in a particular country. Users are being advised that before making any payment for work-related services, they should check the complete details of the kind of visa that they would get. Finally, users should avoid transferring money through Western Union or a similar service and should know about the real recipient of the money.
