Cyber-Criminals Employing Automatic Programs For Testing Their Web Standing

Bot-masters and virus authors are using fresh subscription services in increasing number of instances to examine if and when McAfee SiteAdvisor and Google Safe Browsing the Web reputation software applications separate out malicious web-links. Krebson Security published this on July 26, 2010.

States Brian Krebs a security researcher, the expanding system of automated inspection for scams and other frauds is now possible by utilizing pay-for-subscription services. Infosecurity.com published this on July 27, 2010.

Krebs also states that while keeping malevolent websites, the perpetrators can remain one step further of the pay-for-subscription services through the shift of their malicious programs onto fresh domains when it's found that the current domains supporting the malware are appearing on numerous blacklists. However, checking the blacklists all the time can mean consuming too much time.

The researcher adds that with merely 20 cents, it's possible for subscribers to determine if any of eighteen blacklists have flagged their malevolent sites. These blacklists are ZeusTracker, Spamhaus, SmartScreen, SpamCop, Phishtank, MalwareURL, Malwaredomianlist and Norton Safe Web to name a few. KrebsonSecurity published this.

Explain the security researchers, this automatic subscription service works somewhat like the free malware and virus scan service Virustotal for identifying malevolent domains, computing the blacklist number and listing their names which spot any bad sites.

Moreover, when the researchers conducted a test they found the website check-crypt.com as an entrant. The result of the test disclosed the person's name as well as address who registered the website that one particular domain privacy facility protected.

However, additional assessment disclosed that the registration was done to an individual named Oleg Lojko in Rogatin, Ukraine. Also the e-mail address of that individual was recorded as containing the domain, vinni-trinni3.net. This domain reportedly is one that a few malware blacklists labeled as malicious because it disseminated the notorious password-stealing Zeus Trojan.

Furthermore, the test outcomes weren't too devastating. For, the subscription facility spotted only 3 among the 18 blacklists as labeling the website malevolent.

Ultimately, according to the security researchers, cyber-criminals are becoming increasingly refined as well as employing newer methods for confirming how efficient their fraudulent operations are.
