They indicated at two scam mails one coming from Powell (Ohio) and the other from Kalamazoo County (Michigan) to prove their verdict.
The scam mail from Powell (Ohio) seems to have come from an alleged hitman who has been hired to murder the reader.
The mail reads "I took pity on you (reader). That is why I have made up my mind to help you if you are willing to help yourself." The sender asks for $10,000 to cancel the contract.

A surgery needs to be carried out. Unfortunately I'm having some difficulties here, I was mugged in a Taxi on my way to the hospital and they made away with all my money and other valuable things. I'm facing a hard time here, I need to help her and also get back home. Please I need a loan of $2450 or whatever you can afford".
Detective Sgt. Jeff Christensen, Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office's Financial Crimes Unit stated that usually they hack an account, if they can, and take all the contacts out of it, as per the news by mlive.com on October 11, 2010.
