DJ of Copenhagen Faces Investigation for Hacking PCs of His Fans

Musicfeeds.com.au reported on 30th April, 2014 stating that a DJ (Disc Jockey) of Copenhagen (Denmark) is under investigation by local authorities because he is alleged to have hacked personal computers of hundreds of his fans.

The motives of the DJ are not known as exact numbers of computers hacked is also unknown.

Investigating officials reveal that the said DJ has been facing investigation since 16th April, 2014 without disclosing the identity of the "well-known DJ" and his victims due to privacy reasons.

Investigators estimate that the tech-savvy DJ hacked around 128 folks during last 3 years. The DJ began sending tainted party invites to his victims after watching tutorials on the usage of computer Trojan horses.

Once opened, the computer Trojan gave him complete access to their systems, mail system, chat sessions, images and web-cameras. It looks that unlike other cybercriminals, this DJ was not interested for financial gains as he just wanted to see his victims via their web-cams.

This means he is only risking for one and half years of jail term because this type of hacking activity is not taken as grave crime in Denmark.

A Spokesperson of local Denmark Police shedding light on the ongoing probe reports that they have searched the apartment of the DJ and recovered many items from his home for examination. Gigwise.com published a statement on 29th April, 2014 as "police recovered details from the DJ's computer and contacted fans who have been hacked."

VICE, one of the websites which has been closely tracking the story of DJ, said that it has contacted many victims but till now none of them is ready to get their statement recorded.

Vice.com published a report on 28th April, 2014 quoting one of the victims who spoke to VICE and wished to be unidentified as saying "victims are probably scared of repercussions from DJ, fearful of his black cyber skills. No one knows what he has of them and hence they are frightened of being singled out."

VICE says that the man has virtually rendered himself socially radioactive.
