Bitdefender says that Rihanna Sex Tape on Social Media is Simply Virus

Security firm Bitdefender has released a report saying that the sex tape starring Barbadian singer Rihanna and her long time beau is spreading on social networking websites is in reality a computer virus.

Bitdefender reveals that the computer virus camouflaged as 'Rihanna Sex Tape with her Boyfriend' is the 3rd most famous malware scams on the Facebook during first half of 2014 with 4.25% of maligned links shared on the social networking website.

The fake videos have been spreading on social media since last two years with Chris martin, Chris Brown, Cliff Dixon and Jay Z co-starring the singer.

If Facebook users click on any of them, they will land on sites which will try to fit viruses on their systems because malware developers continue to find novel ways to distribute their software to innocent victims.

Sex tape of Rihanna is the only celeb on the Bitdefender's list of the top ten social media swindles which is topped by 'Total profile views/visitors' accounting 30.20% bogus links.

Last year, Bitdefender's list showed the unreal sex tape of American singer-songwriter and actress Taylor Swift among the top-10 scams on Facebook with a whopping 1.28 billion active users in a month which is a natural target for hackers. But it has fallen down in the list over the last 12 months.

"Guess who viewed your profile" scams remain in first place consisting almost one third of the total but a free trip to Disneyland was excluded from the list. "Change your Facebook color" schemes now circulate internationally claiming 7.38% of the total number of scams.

Net-security.org published news on 1st August, 2014 quoting Catalin Cosoi, Chief Security Strategist of Bitdefender, as saying "Why do users still want to steal a look at their profile in spite of all security warning? I think they assume these as legitimate apps."

He concluded that this is a finest social production which is a tricky mental game that rams the correct emotional buttons. The lures have changed with the time with peekers, stalkers, fans, excessively attached girlfriends and exes haunting you but this scam work simply because of human nature.
