Phishing Scam Themed Near Full Internet Capacity Circulating

According to security researchers, a new phishing e-mail campaign is making waves as it asserts it's from Information Technology Services' Support Department telling the recipient that 70% of the capacity on his Internet is full; as a result, he requires notifying 'support' for eschewing potential problems. Hoax-slayer.com reported this, 1st-week of July 2015.

Also, there's one web-link labeled 'contact us' inside the phishing e-mail which supposedly lets the recipient get in touch with the support division as also tackle the issue.

But, no support division of a genuine service provider has sent the e-mail. Indeed, it is one phishing campaign created for duping recipients into divulging the login credentials of their e-mail A/Cs to the cyber-crooks.

Actually, clicking on 'contact us' web-link takes recipients onto one fake 'Help Desk' page, which directs them for submitting the usernames and passwords of their e-mail A/Cs. Still further, entering the requested details followed with hitting 'enter' key on 'Submit' provided in the bogus online form takes onto one just 'Thank You' page.

Here, the recipient might believe he has corrected the so-called problem. But, actually the crooks would pounce to accumulate the details presented as well as utilize them for compromising the users' original e-mail accounts from where fake and spam mails can be distributed in the victims' name.

Security analysts after examining the current phishing scam remark that ISPs (Internet Service Providers) could dispatch alert e-mails telling the user's e-mail A/C has exceeded else about to exceed the storage limit. But the kind of electronic mails will unambiguously mention the ISP's name while never direct him for following certain web-link towards resolving the problem.

Thus, security pundits advise users that they should log into their Internet A/Cs from the address bar of their Web-browsers alternatively through one authorized application instead of following any web-link inside an unsolicited electronic mail.

Alongside, they should equip their PCs with anti-phishing software which would sieve all unnecessary messages.

Disturbingly, it's because of the aforementioned kind of phishing e-mail scams which makes phishing to go on online as well as constantly increase while be a real problem facing innocent people.
