Porn Clicker Malware Infects Android Applications within Google’s Pay Store

After April, May and July 2015 respectively, click-jacking malware has yet again attacked Android applications, which successfully circumvented the greatly-appreciated application screening procedure of Google. Last year Apple was victimized with XcodeGhost while Google is currently getting targeted with Acecard and Android/Clickers banker malware.

Provider of business and consumer security, ESET has discovered over 300 Porn malware of the clicker-type planted onto Google Play within merely 7 months, while cyber-crooks haven't ceased from loading more samples onto the utility. ESET has identified the Porn clicker malware that camouflage genuine applications.

Lukáš Štefanko, Malware Researcher with ESET states that the massive scheme of click-fraud on Google Play's application collection for Android has been the most extended and effective intrusion of malware for Android application store of Google Play. Smh.com posted this, February 26, 2016.

Štefanko continues that even though Google's security professionals thwart the campaign as well as empty the store off the applications quite often, the malware creators manage to remain ahead and effectively load fresh applications onto the store.

To work, the Porn-clicker Trojan opens one invisible browser screen followed with clicking advertisements displayed on pornographic sites. This' done after each minute or slightly longer. The malware doesn't capture user-information, access end-user's activity alternatively; transmit credentials onto distant home-servers, thus prompting security companies to consider it inoffensive because it focuses to gain monetarily devoid of causing any destruction for the end-user.

Occasionally, an end-user who misses on turning off the Internet within his mobile could find a raised invoice next billing period since the Trojan would've opened again-and-again smut websites behind screen.

Nevertheless, given that porn clickers widely proliferate on Google's Play Store, it's not sufficient to conduct just reviews as defense against them. As Nick FitzGerald says the Trojans surfacing on Google Play isn't unprecedented; they're clearly executed via some well-organized scheme. It's only to be anticipated that the perpetrators of this malicious software will keep on updating their ware for discovering fresh techniques towards evading Google's security checks as also for tricking consumers. Overall according to ESET team, every week a mean of 10 fresh porn-clickers elude Google's security tests in the campaign.
