Porn Site ‘Brazzers’ has its Forum Hacked

A recent data-hack on Brazzers the much visited porn website leaked almost 800,000 account credentials. Although the account leakages were from a different portal (Brazzersforum(dot)com) of the company, people using Brazzers who at the time of the hack didn't even log into that portal too could be risked with having their details exposed.

Vigilante.pw the breach monitoring website provided the data dump to Motherboard for verification process. There are 790,724 distinct e-mail ids along with plaintext passwords and usernames in the dataset.

Actually the first reporting of the hack was from Vigilante.pw and subsequently Motherboard substantiated it.

A particular account-owner on Brazzers wishing not to have his name disclosed narrated to Motherboard over e-mail that he was one of the unlucky ones whose details were leaked during the hack; however he accepted it was a risk for creating an account arbitrarily online. Another person named John whose e-mail details too got exposed wrote that the occurrence was precisely the reason he resorted to throwaway passwords/login info.

A representative from Brazzers said the majority of leaked data was of inactive accounts; however, Brazzers had banned even those accounts along with the active ones leaked. For according to the company, its users' safety and privacy was the most important job it maintained.

It's little surprising that the data-breach in discussion took place since lately plentiful adult/porn websites getting compromised have been surfacing in news. For instance one Canadian dating site, AshleyMadison.com encountered a hack from certain vigilante hacking syndicate that leaked over 37m account-holders' credentials. Hackread.com posted this, September 7, 2016.

It requires little mention that the aforesaid kinds of data hacks risk users to an enormous extent of leakage as most account-holders on infidelity/porn sites avoid getting their identities disclosed that otherwise is necessary for security reasons. As with the Brazzers' breach, visitors utilizing their actual e-mail ids for getting into this website are endangered with getting their A/Cs compromised and details exposed.

The Brazzers account-owner narrating to Motherboard further said that change could be done via forcibly making the public respectful towards other's data besides, of course, their own, while adequate security measures should get implemented.
