Prime Accused in Cyber Crime against Girl Students Arrested

On Tuesday, Sujit Sahoo was arrested by the crime branch. Sujit Sahoo had posted the lewd photographs as well as comments on a Facebook page about several students of the Ramadevi Women's University. He was arrested one day after the girls has met CM Naveen Patnaik, and told him regarding the situation.

The chief minister twitted for informing about the accused arrest. Timesofindia.indiatimes.com posted on March 29th, 2017, quoting the tweet of Naveen Patnaik that "prime accused Sujit Sahu (sic) in the cybercrime case arrested last night. Hope this serves as a strong deterrent and such acts are not repeated."

The order to investigate came after the 40 girl students of RD Women's University, Kamala Nehru Women's College and Saibala Women's College, were led by Byomkesh Ray, President of BCJD (Biju Chhatra Janata Dal).

The second case was registered following a complaint by a group of victims. We formed an eight-member team and already started the investigation." Police said that a picture competition between the students was held by the accused few days back. He got the girls' pictures, and then used those in obscene manner.
