Three Detained for Fraud, Including GHMC Employees and Civilian
Cyber-crime cops yesterday (April 19, 2017) caught 2 staff members of GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) along with one civilian, all three committing fraud when they executed one illegitimate property mutation via embezzling database of GHMC.
Cops detained B. Polaiah, an operator of data-entry at fire prevention division of GHMC main office; Jiyaguda's operator of data-entry M Lakhan Singh of GHMC's Circle VII within Khairatabad; along with a beneficiary namely Khaja Qutubuddin a resident belonging to Somajiguda. One more charged, Jagadish, an IT programmer at the Municipality has fled, say police.
About 7-days back on 13th, an ex-excise superintendent Mohammed Abbas belonging to Somajiguda complained to police about his selling 220 square yards from one 370-sq yd land he had at MS Makta. The purchaser was Abbas' neighbour named Qutubuddin who worked as a fireman in certain training centre situated at Vattinagulapally back during 2001.
On 15th April, when Abbas went to Khairatabad's Circle 10 office of GHMC to pay his '2017-18' property tax, he couldn't believe when he saw Qutubuddin's name showing as the person owning the remaining 150-sq yrds of the land that hadn't been sold whatsoever. On checking with officers at GHMC, Abbas was told that Lakhan Singh and Polaiah had removed his name and put Qutubuddin's instead.
Police explained that the threesome gang, by making the unauthorized alterations, caused severe inconvenience and loss for the authentic land-owners, even as those blamed demanded massive sums from beneficiaries in the property-related scheme amounting lakhs of INR. Thehansindia.com posted this, April 20, 2017.
In the way described above, the gang altered about 2,000 Mutation Names devoid of verifying or listing within GHMC's D.C. office that reaped them many lakhs of INR.
Conclusively, people are urged to be careful not to become victims of such crooks while never go to others than the appropriate officers for their properties' mutations. People falling for such frauds should lodge their complaints with the I.Os. The working of the aforementioned operation was under the guidance of Inspector Sri P. Ravi Kiran along with Sls Sri S. Naresh as well as other team members, with DCP, DD, Hyderabad (NSS) directly supervising. » SPAMfighter News - 4/24/2017 |
