Whatever you do, never download these apps – They are concealing malware!

Several of Android machines were at risk of getting infected with the malicious software, since Google identified dozens of applications in its Google Store containing the program.

As per the Check Point security researchers, Judy malware was found in over 50 apps on Google Play Store and it might have affected around 36 Mn users of Android. The virus has infected the machines with software which produces fraudulent advertisements clicks without knowledge of users. It has done this by opening hidden and secret web browser, which is not visible to user and clicks on the adverts in background.

It is not best month for working in the cybersecurity. One latest security risk was identified lurking in background of more than 40 Android applications; many of them were available for downloading from Google Play for many years. This has been identified just few weeks after massive global ransomware attack, which disabled more than 2lac computers as well as crippled the UK hospitals.

This extensive hacking campaign was named as 'Judy' malware since its connection with a specific group of games of Kiniwini - developer from South Korea, all of this feature one character called Judy in title. Nymag.com posted on May 31st, 2017, stating that normally the games are part of cooking and fashion genres, with titles such Chef Judy: Picnic Lunch Maker and Fashion Judy: Magic Girl Style.

Google has removed all the applications known to have contained the virus from its Play Store. Pieces of malware such as Judy are known as Trojan horse viruses, because of its deceptive nature.

Other malicious code that were hidden in few applications on Google Play Store, have taken advantage of the technology known as "near-field communication", a similar protocols set that is powering the wireless payment systems such as Apple Pay and Android Pay.

Oldest of those applications were last updated on Apr. 2016, which means that "the malicious code hid for a long time on the Play Store undetected." There is no projected number of infected Android devices as they don't know for how long these applications were infected. Deleting the applications from your device becomes safe, as soon as you revoked the permissions from affected apps.
