UAE Involved in Qatar Government Website Hacks

According to The Washington Post reports, after just analyzing information, which United States intelligence collected, the agencies substantiated in the week of July 10 that UAE masterminded the breach of Qatar government websites during late May.

The hack resulted in annoyance amidst certain Persian Gulf nations about remarks believed to be from Qatar's emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani regarding delicate matters related to USA, Israel and Iran, on 24th May, 2017.

Instantly thereafter, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain hastened towards prohibiting the entire Qatari media. UAE masterminded the infiltration of social media and news websites of Qatari government where it posted provocative and fake quotations apparently from Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani, during May which has resulted in the turmoil among Qatar as well as its neighbors, states U.S. intelligence.

Authorities got to know in the week of July 10 about the confirmation by United States intelligence office about May 23 when veteran UAE government members talked in detail the plan as well as its implementation. According to the authorities, it's still not clear if the UAE itself executed the hacks alternatively engaged some other party for them. Motheriones.com posted this, July 16, 2017.

The Washington Post didn't mention the names of intelligence officers the newspaper interviewed. Issuing one statement, Yousef al-Otaiba, UAE Ambassador said the report was untrue.

The revelations follow the electronic mails allegedly stolen from the private A/C of Otaiba and got circulated among media persons during the last many months. That particular theft was the work of GlobalLeaks as the pro-Qatari organization claims. A lot of the electronic mails reveal how determined UAE has been in the past years towards influencing Washington policymakers as well as thinkers to support it regarding matters related to the conflict between it and Qatar.
