Malware Growth for Apple iOS Outnumbers Android’s
Android devices across the world far outsell Apple devices; despite so hackers seek to attack iOS devices. Indeed, with Cisco Systems and IBM partnering with Apple for providing business associated services intended for corporate users, it's expected that iOS devices will more-and-more become targets of malicious software.
As a proof, Skycure a mobile security supplier published a report titled 'The Skycure Mobile Threat Intelligence Report" which forecasts 2017 as an unprecedented year for security flaws. The total reported security flaws during January-March this year outnumbers the total of 2016, the report notes.
And although Apple effectively maintains its App Store clear of malware, the company's systems can become contaminated through other means. These are abusing security flaws, and side-loading jail broken systems and applications. Systems exposed to dangerous device-networks causes trouble as well. The report points out that approximately 39% of iPhones encountered incidences from unsafe networks, thus for every affected device there is a mean of more than 7 incidences encountered; whereas with just 25% of iPads facing risky networks, the average incidences facing each device is just 5. Betanews.com posted this on the Web, July 18, 2017. A particular issue which Android phones enjoy which is not there for iOS devices is the many safety provisions by Google for safeguarding Android from ordinary threats, in particular, ransomware. Ransomware is malware that pretends to be safe application, but when downloaded, it blocks end-user from accessing his phone.
Security flaws affecting iOS, meanwhile, have increased remarkably in 2017, touching 192 that are far more than 161 detected in the whole of 2016, and now proceeding to touch 643, a four times rise from 2016, Skycure predicts. Comparatively, for Android, it's expected that the vulnerabilities affecting it will slightly drop from 523 to 500.
Malware and security flaws don't suggest the level of security of a platform; however, their numbers do suggest the frequency with which hackers attempt at forcibly entering it. The growing number of malware and exploitable flaws of iOS devices prove that hackers seek for invading these systems. Therefore, enterprises require ensuring the criminals are kept at bay. » SPAMfighter News - 7/24/2017 |
