HBO Confirms Cyber Attack had Struck it

A cyber assault that hit HBO resulted in proprietary information getting compromised, the company confirmed. Hackers infiltrated the systems of HBO, July 31, 2017, while threatened they would carry out more attacks on the victim.

The renowned cabler stated that it instantly started probing the incident as well as was coordinating with cyber security companies and law enforcement. HBO considered data protection as one of its highest priorities, so it strictly imparted its responsibility towards safeguarding its databases.

HBO hasn't said anything about the content which might've gotten stolen. The company is neither specifying the titles nor the data volume taken during the hack. Richard Plepler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HBO has already e-mailed to the company's employees informing everyone about the hack.

It isn't unknown of HBO being victimized with a hack. In 2015, Game of Thrones' first 4 episodes from the 5th season got illegally released soon before the premiere show. ABC and Netflix too got targeted. One hacker going by the handle 'The Dark Overlord' leaked "Orange is the New Black's" Season 5 first episode from Netflix during April the time Netflix wouldn't yield to a ransomware attack. During the ABC assault, hackers leaked 8 episodes of Funderdome the game show of Steve Harvey before actual release. Deadline.com posted this, July 31, 2017.

Among a series of assaults aimed at Hollywood studios, Netflix and Disney to name some, the most recent victim is HBO. During April, one hack attack on Netflix led to the leakage of episodes from Orange is the New Black's fifth season, while a month later hackers asserted they stole Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

According to Richard Plepler, any infiltration like the one occurring to HBO is certainly disturbing, unsettling and disruptive for everyone. The video release of any 'Game of Throne' episode hasn't yet been done while it's still not clear which episodes have gotten posted before time.

The gigantic hack into Sony in 2014 has attracted the maximum attention among the latest Hollywood cyber assaults, wherein innumerable confidential details and e-mails had been leaked online.
