Phishing Attacks Still in Force

A worrying 91% of hacking incidences start with a phishing assault that utilizes a socially engineered tactic and an e-mail message for acquiring admission into confidential data. A global company Mimecast, which is a specialist in e-mail management reliant on cloud for Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange, involving continuity, archiving and security services for safeguarding enterprises, stated that hackers tried fooling recipients via baits that encouraged them for pursuing web-links, viewing attachments, giving away secret information, alternatively even wire transferring funds into a fake account.

According to Systems Engineer Jon Larsen with Omaha situated AIM Institute, the destruction by pursuing web-links in phishing e-mails is likely substantial. For, by clicking such web-links, potential victims may be led onto a website which appears like the person's bank, and by entering the credentials, the page may seem as the log-in page of the bank where logging in doesn't take to the real banking page. The hackers then collect the information to use for accessing the victim's bank. Larsen explains that such web-links are also liable to cause malware installation on the victim's computer. Kios.org posted this, October 30, 2017.

Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Director General of NITDA (National Information Technology Development Agency) says cyber security means spreading awareness, since irrespective of high level of security of any system, without education, there is a high chance of getting attacked.
