Twitter Accounts of Indian Public Figures Hacked

Beginning from 6th February, one hackers' syndicate that names itself Ayyildiz Tim and claims to be some cyber army from Turkey, infiltrated Twitter accounts belonging to a number of Indian public personalities.

Those Twitter account holders impacted included Pritish Nandy, journalist; Swapan Dasgupta, MP; Ram Madhav, general secretary of BJP; and Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Anupam Kher, all actors. Currently the accounts have been regained.

During January, the hacker gang Ayyildiz Tim had breached Syed Akbaruddin United Nations Organization permanent representative and Indian ambassador's Twitter account. All the impacted accounts are down albeit the account of Anupam Kher is back online. Firstpost.com posted this on the Web dated February 6, 2018.

Prior to suspension of the accounts, the hackers put up different missives in Turkish language along with missives "I love Pakistan" via these handles. Based on actor Kher's statement, which PTI published, as well as one Twitter support message, it seems the accounts got hijacked with the aid of one malicious URL that certain Twitter DM shared. Kher told PTI that someone hacked his Twitter account and so received certain phone-calls from his India-based friends, while he was in Los Angeles when the time was 1am.

Believably, the hacked account of Ram Madhav continues to be active, with 3 fresh Twitter messages regarding how the hackers operated. On February 6, the hackers' syndicate didn't show any particular enthusiasm about India. The hackers defaced Madhav's account with an altered profile picture replacing it with one young female's face wearing green cap, while the exhibited name read "Pelin Can." Ram Madhav's bio attempted suggesting for being kind to everybody one met while ascending life's stairs as while coming down they met the same individuals.

The cyber hack's third victim was Swapan Dasgupta Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha. His A/C that displayed tweets stating "Love Pakistan" had to be suspended following the breach.

In any case, no answers were obtained for the questions regarding Ayyildiz Tim as well as the gang's motives. Reacting to the Internet assaults, Twitter Support stated that the website was working towards resolution of the problem.
