WeChat, the Chinese Social Networking Site is Banded by Australian Military
There is a prohibition of using WeChat for Australian Defense Department' members. Australian Financial Review said on Sunday, authorities in the department are leading a security evaluation on WeChat. The Australian military representatives will be prohibited from using it until it is marked safe.

Unreliability of WeChat has been noticed by other governments too. The Indian Defense Ministry forbid WeChat in December and other 41 Chinese Applications from phones that are government-owned after categorizing the apps as "spyware," reported by Indian Express. Russia also banned WeChat, as the organization violated a regulation of Russia for foreign technology agency to save data of users who are Russian citizen living in Russia, as reported by South China Morning Post.
