Message of Cryptic Playstation 4 is Crashing the Consoles

The users of PS4 were getting an odd message that is triggering a glitch and then bricking the console. As per a number of Reddit users, this glitch has appeared in recent times and works through messaging app.

The players were getting a message that in few cases it did not even required to be opened in order to trigger the glitch. One of the players, while playing the Rainbow Six Siege, saw his complete team getting crashed except him/her. The message was sent to them by a player of the other team. The member or player, who was not affected by the message of other team, has set his message to private.

The issue sometimes gets so complicated that people are forced to reset the consoles, and then install the games again. If you do a factory reset, then that will clear the complete data that is stored on console. Therefore, this exploit can be fatal, in case necessary steps to avoid it are not taken.

A few of the users reported that it is not always required to open the message to 'brick' the console, even receiving the notification is more than enough for carrying the exploit, as posted on October 14, 2018, by dexerto.com.

The word "Juegas" appears on the messages along with an odd symbol that cannot be recognized by PS4. The PS4 crashes as soon as the message gets opened, and the users are required to start in the Safe Mode and then rebuild the database. One can avoid this by checking each and every message via the PlayStation App or PlayStation.com, or by setting the PSN account privacy for restricting all the incoming messages. To adjust the settings go to: Account Management -> Privacy Settings -> Who Can Message Me -> Select "No One".

While playing the Rocket League, another player also reported about this glitch. As soon as the message comes on notification bar, his system got crashed. Sony has not commented on the issue yet, and till now the problem appears to be restricted to only a few players. Before the problem aggravates further, required action should be taken. But for now, the ideal way to protect the PS4 is to set the messages on private mode. As soon as the problem rectifies, one can change their settings to normal mode.
