‘Momo Challenge’ the dangerous suicidal game interrupts children’s programs on YouTube

YouTube the video sharing service of Google has been repeatedly getting Momo Challenge the notorious girl character with creepy feelings during the play of certain much liked shows for children. Instances have occurred when this sinister game induced hacking that endangered small kids with physical and psychological difficulties and sometimes led them to commit suicide too.

Screenshots captured of film clips from YouTube suddenly getting interrupted with the game are spreading fast across social networking websites. Appearing like bullying in cyber space the Momo Challenge game while proliferating via smart-phones and social media is quite similar to the Blue Whale Challenge as it lures gamers to get in touch with Momo -name of a gamer followed with delivering them pictorial threats from the Momo A/C even as they get directed for doing several risky tasks.

And as the Momo Challenge game goes on there are instructions to participants for watching psychic and horror films or have their hands charred with needles as well as blades. Cartoon shows and other harmless contents which parents let their kids watch currently receive attacks, including hacks in a concentrated manner. As the problem becomes increasingly visible, it's expected of YouTube to act, says Senior Analyst Pavel Naiya with Counterpoint a market research company, in a report to IANS. www.indiatvnews.com posted this, February 27, 2019.

YouTube, which enjoys a worldwide user-base counting more than 1.3bn people, has a massive number of watchers in the age group 18-49. And as Internet becomes hugely accessed and there's an increasing penetration of smart-phones too, minors i.e. people not yet 18-yrs old as well visit the video-sharing service.

According to Naiya, social media majors such as Google, Twitter and Facebook are all the time making efforts for adding newer and newer safety measures. This is because fresh problems of algorithm types will keep emerging for knowing things as they happen in order that monitoring of perilous content is done while they're also dealt with to certain extent.

In India, West Bengal, Odisha and other states recently released advisory related to Momo Challenge, cautioning educational authorities/parents of the danger lurking on the game.
