Bank hacking for theft of money by North Koreans surging, state U.S officials

Officials at USA state that North Korea in a desperate move to get cash has been increasingly launching cyber attacks against various businesses but in particular banks inside America and other countries globally. As known, cyber investigators from FBI had spotted the hackers from North Korea who had run the 2016 cyber assault against the central bank of Bangladesh. Those hackers broke into the Bangladesh Bank's computers hoping they would be able to filch a huge $1bn from A/Cs created with the New York Federal Reserve. However, the hackers managed stealing a lesser amount of $81m prior to authorities halting the illicit bank transactions.

As for tools of attack, the cyber thieves of North Korea are employing, among other things, ransomware that enable attackers to get hold over an important computer of a business and thereafter hold the victim at ransom in return of helping him out of the trouble.

According to assistant attorney general John Demers for national security belonging to the Department of Justice (DOJ), it has been observed about North Koreans who've fast become one big threat on cyber space during recent years apart from Russia, China and Iran. However, as different from the other nations that concentrate more on intelligence theft, North Korea concentrates to get money. Demers states that the North Koreans execute bank thefts through the cyber space directly and significantly. www.keyt.com posted this, March 2, 2019.

Further according to erstwhile cyber-security official Anthony Ferrante of White House and FBI, within merely some years intelligence services of North Korea have displayed great dexterity at stealing huge sums using advanced techniques. He says the North Koreans are now in a short span of time globally most sophisticated as well as unrelenting e-bank robbers.

As per the DOJ along with cyber-security companies from the private sector that track malicious operations online, hackers from NK have employed identical methods during cyber assaults against banks in Africa, Asia and South America. The DOJ has issued criminal charges for attempting at foiling the North Koreans' ruses despite there being little possibility of detaining and taking into custody the hackers behind the attacks.
