Three persons arrested by Police for hacking of a J&K person’s Facebook Account

Three persons that include a couple from Jaipur, Rajasthan, were allegedly arrested for hacking a Facebook account, as well as for posting obscene and vulgar messages, said the police on Sunday (i.e. on March 17, 2019). As per the police, the Facebook account was of a person from Reasi district of J&K (Jammu and Kashmir).

According to the details, a written complaint was lodged by Varinder Singh, Karan Singh's son, on Dec. 25, 2018, alleging that his Facebook account was hacked by some unknown persons. The written complaint further stated that those unknown persons embarrassed Varinder's family by creating fake ID of Varinder, his wife as well as his sister; and then sharing Varinder's family photographs with obscene and vulgar messages, said a police spokesman. As a result, his whole family was defamed in society.

An FIR under appropriate sections of Information Technology (IT) Act and the RPC (Ranbir Penal Code) was registered in the police station of Reasi, and the investigation has been taken by the SHO Ashwani Sharma.

The police spokesman said that during the investigation, the IP (Internet Protocol) addresses of fake ID's have been retrieved from the Facebook. The accused were then identified as Mahinder Jain's son - Rahul Jain, and Rahul's wife Kirti Jain who both were from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The third accused was identified as Parvinder Singh also called
Rocky, a driver by profession and a Seela Reasi resident.

"It came to the light that the couple had once visited Reasi and had exchanged their phone numbers with the complainant. Later, they managed to contact the third accused through the friend list of Facebook account of the complainant," he said.

He said that the accused couple has been arrested from their Jaipur residence by a special team that is led by the SI Ravi Kumar on court warrant. The accused couple was brought to Reasi on March 16, 2019. On the accused couple's disclosure, Parvinder Singh - who was the third accused - was also arrested soon after.

In this case, a special team worked that is led by Ashwani Sharma - the SHO, Mohd. Akram - the ASI as well as others under close supervision of Dy.S.P Hqrs Reasi, Shiv Kumar Chauhan - Addl.SP, Dr. Waseem hamdani, and under overall command of Nisha Nathyal - the SSP Reasi.
