Phishers Delight- Domain Names For Resale

Some of the major Internet domain sellers are major crooks. They post online addresses appealing to stealers of identity who desire swindle clients. This was stated on October 27, 2006 by a safety company.

The black market for domain names is a very active. In that market, crooks resell registered and accredited domain names. Sometimes, they get thousands of dollars for them. Sedo and Moniker are the largest resellers of domain names.

It was recognized by Finnish-based F-Secure that over thirty domain names, that are registered, are resold on Sedo mainly for criminals who try to fool people tempting them to the fake websites. After that, they expose their private information. Americanexpresscredicard.com, Mastercarding.com, and visacardcredit.com are three of those domains.

The chief research officer of F-Secure's, Mikko Hypponen, wondered why people purchase those domains if they are phishers or bank themselves.

Internet crooks use domain names that are misspelled for their fake websites to deceive users. This is why many domain registrations, which resembles huge economic foundations are frequently noticed.

F-Secure has made some serious research and found that some crooks delete or replace some letters in the famous URLs to fool customers. For example, they may use vsa.com and paypal.com.
It has been said by Sedo that the trademark holders are responsible for complaining about any domains that offended them. Sedo's general counsel, Jeremiah Johnston, has stated that the company cannot filter six million domains ready for sale.

Phishers who track resalable domain names have greatly increased the number of Internet scams. The familiar but fake websites can easily fool the customers. Consequently, any Domain name reseller must remove the fake-recognizable site names prior to advertising the domain name to anyone.

Experts say that companies need a public plan to warn the clients for similar scams. Thus, when consumers click on the fake Website, the ISP at once draws their attention that the website is in fact a scam.
