Windows Vista Crack is a Trojan Horse

A recent download has start doing rounds of the crack boards known as 'Windows Vista All Versions Activation 21.11.06'. It claims to be an 'activation crack' for any Vista edition. But the file is in fact a Trojan carrier that will incorporate Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.aze on your system.

BitTorrent users posted the reviews of the crack stated that many anti-virus software discovered the malware, though NOD32 and Norton anti-virus didn't.

It seems that Win32.LdPinch Trojan creators are more interested in established software vendors. Security experts at Kaspersky Labs cautioned of a bulk-mailing attack claiming to be from McAfee that actually distribute the Lafoo1.v Trojan and concealed in a MS Word document, McAfee.Inc.Reports.doc in November 2006.

Lafoo1.v takes out a new variation of LdPinch (a well-recognized Trojan password-pilfering program) from itself and relays it for installation. LdPinch thieves passwords of several services and applications, comprising of ICQ and AOL IM, and other secret user data.

The Trojan can install a dubious macro command, start Internet browser with 'command line parameters', pilfer personal information and send thieved data through the browser without the computer user's knowledge.

In a personal interview, John Pritchard, Microsoft Australia, cautioned that malware could easily be pre-installed in plagiarized versions of Vista. He was talking on the issue of Windows Vista installation method and how easy it is for administrators to equip a Vista install DVD with pre-install software.

He advised users to buy only those DVDs that are approved and have certification hologram. This is to ensure that users are not dealing with any pirated product. If users have command over unattended installation and have designed it themselves, then probably they understand what are they staking on it.

Software plagiarists have been trying hard to crack Vista since its launch. Although almost every official edition of Vista has qualified to the pirate groups, no board has come forward to claim its success with a crack to transcend activation. This is, in fact, an impressive deed by software giant Microsoft. Usually, a release of this volume and significance is cracked within 48 hours of the launch of final code.
