Site Of A Presidential Candidate Turned Pro-Gay By A Hacker

People visiting the MySpace's web page for the contender of Republican president John McCain were amazed to see the message that appeared there. The message gave an impression of John McCain coming in full support to gay marriage. It all happened after an hour of the so-called "immaculate-hack" carried out by an entrepreneur working online.

The message went somewhat like this "Dear Supporters, I would like to let you all know today that I've decided to reverse my position...now I am supporting gay marriages whole heartedly...especially the union of two passionate ladies in love."

The image didn't originate from the page of McCain, rather it came from some Mike Davidson, age 32, CEO with Newsvine.com, which is a community-generated new media website in Seattle. Davidson said he's actually trying to respond to Internet etiquette's breach and in doing so he did nothing against the laws. This news appeared in The Columbian on 29 March 2007.

McCain, presidential hopeful and a Senator in the Republic, is having a record of being completely against the gay issues.

At 70, McCain is the oldest contender for Presidency. And if he wins the 2008 election, he will be the oldest person ever elected to the office.

McCain's aides didn't reveal anything about his response to the fuss that spread swiftly from the cyber space as Davidson sent his account on Newsvine - the company he had founded one year before.

The campaign of McCain was amongst 100, 000 users of MySpace which Davidson believes had exploited his code. However he said that the campaign didn't credit him, in place of generating its own contacts and links it linked the contender's page to list that was posted on Davidison's page on MySpace.

Consequently, each Internet surfer to the page of McCain drew the roll from the computer of Davidson, which resulted in reducing his bandwidth, and also slowing down Internet access from his machine.

As per Davidson, upon determining what had come to pass he designed a phony "McCain for gay marriage" graphic and destined the graphic to go just anywhere and to anyone who tried to obtain his personal contact list from MySpace. And that's exactly what happened several times within one hour and fixing the problem took really long to the staff of McCain.

He wrote in a blog that it was an "immaculate hack".

He said that he never misused the stuff on the page of McCain and no violation of laws was done on his part. It appeared as if everyone took it with good humor, added Davidson.
