Hackers Find Way to Run Vista Games on XP

One reason for the popularity of the just released Shadowrun for computer is that it would adopt certain upgrades, on running Windows Vista. However, all that propaganda turned out to be sheer lies that tried to market more units of Vista operating system. Warez and hacking group Razor1911 have cracked the game being played on Windows XP.

The worse thing about it all is that the game neither applied any element of the DirectX 10 libraries nor did it use any of the exclusive features of Vista. The gamers would not play the game on XP only if an OS-checker ran during installation. But with the cracking of the game, it is now possible to bypass this restriction.

The unfolded game arrives packed with a subdirectory called "xp" that includes replacements for many game files. Warez who released the patch notes indicated that the game would only run if there were single-player bot matches and multiplayer using LAN but not an online multiplayer. The game allows users to play on Windows Live just like in the Blizzard games. Therefore, it is not unlikely that the cracked version would be devoid of the ability to play on the Internet. Still further it is unclear if the "xp" patch would be able to function on the game's retail version too.

Since these activities attempt to evade Vista-only requirements it shows that people strongly demand games that can operate on both OSs. While Microsoft asserts that adding DirectX 10 would require an architectural changeover to the operating system that could fail to backport to Windows XP, this opinion becomes invalid with respect to Halo 2 and Shadowrun where none uses DirectX 10.

However, the situation worsens even more for Microsoft, as it seems that performance appreciates by 30 percent when the party plays the game on XP. With this it is also possible to set the graphic detail much higher than what it would have been on a computer that ran Vista operating system. The final point carrying weight is that by playing the game on XP, it loads with a much faster speed as well.
