Internet Malware This Olympic: A Challenge to Security Officials

Following the recent distributed denial-of-service attacks against the cable TV network, CNN, by angry Chinese hackers disagreeing with the network's news coverage of China cracking down sharply on protestors in Tibet, Chinese IT security officials are worried that hackers might again strike when the Olympic Games take on in Beijing.

The technical team of CNCERT (China's National Computer Network Emergency Response) said in its April report that as observed from earlier experiences, a lot of hackers are seeking to become popular by exploiting this Olympic season after making it a challenging target.
