Yahoo Infecting Via Rogue Banner Ads

According to reports published by TheRegister on April 28, 2008, Yahoo visitors are being exposed to banner advertisements that attempt to trick them to install harmful malware, while no one in the organization seems to even know about it.

According to Sandi Hardmeier, Vice President of Microsoft, through her "Spyware Sucks" blog, the ads are widely visible across the Internet portal's vast empire, including Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Astrology. Hardmeier first issued the alert on April 26, 2008, and yet two days later on April 28, 2008, Yahoo was still running the fraudulent ads, she said, as reported by TheRegister on April 28, 2008.
