ISC Blocked Open Relays of E-mail Service ProvidersHuang Chengqing, Secretary General, the Internet Society of China, (ISC), revealed that 4,300 e-mail service providers are deprived from open relays and open e-mail proxies by the society. According to Huang, the deprivation of relay feature has come in wake of too much opening of this feature which is providing illegal access of the service to spammers from foreign countries. Chengqing also said that the problem could be tackled in two ways. First is starting a center to report spam e-mail and second is setting up a white list mechanism by which a rank is given to e-mail servers on the basis of their credit status.
