Use of ‘Hack-and-Pier’ Phishing Technique Increasing

The security experts claimed that phishers have introduced a latest mode for conducting phishing attacks that will enable the attack to stay for longer time.

A Finland-based antivirus firm F-Secure informed that they have turned towards infecting authentic sites to host their attacks. This method is called 'hack-and-pier'.

A Technical Specialist at F-Secure, Sean Sullivan, found variants of 'hack-and-pier' exploits which had been claimed to phishing clearinghouse PhishTank, as reported by darkREADING on May 21, 2008.
