PandaLabs Report Adware, Trojan, Worm Compromising Systems
According to PandaLabs, it discovered three pieces of malware in the last week of May 2008. These included the AdvancedXPFixer adware, the Tixcet.A worm and the Banbra.FTI Trojan. Help Net Security published this in news on May 30, 2008.
Security researchers of PandaLabs reported that like all adware programs, AdvancedXPFixer too is designed to pop-up ads. In addition, it gets users to download and run the program.
But once the program runs, an alert message appears with the warning that the user's computer contains spyware. Following this, a screensaver is displayed in which cockroaches are seen devouring the desktop.
Beside these messages, other warnings might appear too, and ultimately a window opens up containing the malicious adware itself that feigns to scrutini...
