China - The Greatest Source of Malicious Sites

There is a growing debate that only a small number of players are actually responsible for the maximum number of net-based threats. Adding support to this fact, a new report states that only ten networks are hosting as many as half of the malware-pushing Websites.

The report from StopBadware.org, an organization comprising technologists and academia and receiving support from PayPal, Google, AOL, Lenovo, VeriSign and Trend Micro to defend users against malware attacks, also revealed that China was dramatically involved in spreading malware. Of the ten networks, six were ISPs or key providers located in China and hosted over 41% of the malevolent sites.
