US Consumers Lose $8.5 Billion Due to Internet Threats Since 2006
According to a survey conducted by National Research Center (US), the country's consumers have been defrauded of money amounting to almost $8.5 Billion since 2006 on account of spyware, viruses and phishing assaults. Specifically, spyware has led to $3.6 Billion in losses while 2.1 Million computers have been replaced on account of malware.
Moreover, although risks associated with the Internet continue to be high, still many end-users remain complacent about the online security.
