CareerBuilder.com Latest Target of Digital Certificate Malware
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Spam Data Mine reports that a reputable employment and job search company, CareerBuilder.com, has been enlisted among the brands that cyber-criminals target to steal login details to access their site in the pretext of owning a new Digital Certificate to protect consumers.
According to UAB, the spam message says that by executing a Setup Wizard for the "Microsoft Windows Live ID Certification Service", consumers would safeguard themselves better. However, it is a malware sample known as a "keylogger" used to infect consumers' systems and intercepts what is typed on it, with criminals looking for login details for the online job site.
