Dreadful Storm Botnet No More

Analysis of the Marshal Threat Research and Content Engineering (TRACE) disclosed that the spam evolving from Storm botnet were facing a decline since past few months and eventually died out in September 2008. With this, its age old prevalence in the world of computers has come to an end.

As per a security vendor, currently, botnet is responsible for less than 1% of global spam and Storm botnet is the most thriving botnet of its kind. This botnet was considered a foremost botnet that made use of 'Malicious Spam' methodology for a large scale circulation of the malware.

Moreover, at its peak time, Storm botnet successfully infected a huge number of PCs but the industry estimation tells that about 500,000 to one million were infected during that time. It was a trendsetter for ...
