Phishing Progressively Becoming Profitable

According to Warren Sealey, Head of Training at MessageLabs, with cyber criminals increasingly using spam and targeted Trojans, the most up-to-date malicious software to steal personal information, phishing is becoming a more profitable business, as reported by Arab Times on October 19, 2008.

Sealey said that malicious software are available online for buying and selling along with their updates. While the targeted Trojan appears like a PDF or Word document, the spam Trojan asks the recipient to click on a given link which triggers downloading of a virus download, according to industry experts.
