Storm Botnet Not Dead Just Get Inactive, Said ExpertsAccording to a warning released by ThreatMETRIX, a leading internet security firm, a notorious botnet that controlled nearly 1 Million home PCs (prior to experts' declaration in September 2008 that it was 'dead') could reappear as the masters of the network revamp its sinister program. Storm botnet, formed mainly from home PCs infected by malicious software that lets them to be operated remotely, was at one time the largest botnet in the world. At the peak of its activity in 2007, the Storm botnet sent out nearly 20% of the global junk mail.
